Ayon Das Mahapatra completed his PhD in Physics at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (Jadavpur University) in 2022, where he achieved an impressive 80.5%. Prior to that, he earned a Postgraduate degree in Physics from Midnapore College (Vidyasagar University) with First Class honors, scoring 74.42% in 2015. Professional Experience

Ayon Das Mahapatra is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Chemistry, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, since 2023. Prior to this role, he was a Research Associate in Instrumentation and Applied Physics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, from 2022 to 2023. His earlier experiences include working as a Project Intern at Surendranath Evening College, Kolkata (2021-2022), and conducting research as a Scholar at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, where he focused on metal oxide and sulfide nanostructure-based thin films for high-performance UV to NIR photodetector applications (2015-2021). Additionally, Ayon has contributed as a Mentor and Resource Person in scientific workshops at the IAPT-Midnapore College Centre for Scientific Culture (2014-2015). His academic projects include a Master’s Project on reduced graphene oxide-zinc phthalocyanine nanocomposites (2014-2015) and a Bachelor’s Project on solar cell studies (2012-2013) at Midnapore College, Vidyasagar University.

Dr. Ayon Das Mahapatra is a distinguished researcher in nanoscience, currently holding the prestigious Valazzi Pikovski Postdoctoral Fellowship at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, starting in 2024. He was also awarded the Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship at the same institution in 2023. Dr. Mahapatra received the Young Researcher Award from the Institute of Scholars, India, in 2021, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the field.
