In 2020, Dr. Jallouli completed a Master’s degree in “Biomechanics and Physiology of Muscular Exercise” at the Higher Institute of Sport and Physical Education of Sfax, University of Sfax, Tunisia. Her thesis focused on the effects of nighttime melatonin ingestion on postural balance, functional mobility, and fall risk in people with multiple sclerosis, and she received a grade of 18/20, with honors. In 2018, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the Higher Institute of Health Sciences and Techniques of Sfax, University of Sfax, Tunisia, with a thesis on the physiotherapeutic management of complications following mastectomy, for which she received a grade of 19.5/20, with honors. Dr. Jallouli’s academic achievements include being the top student in her Master’s program.
Dr. Sonda Jallouli has a diverse academic and research background. During her doctoral studies, she was affiliated with several research teams, including the Evaluation and Management of Musculoskeletal Pathologies Research Laboratory (LR20ES09) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sfax, Tunisia, as well as the Departments of Physical Medicine and Functional Rehabilitation, Neurology, Biochemistry, Hematology, and Immunology at Habib Bourguiba University Hospital in Sfax. Dr. Jallouli is 27 years old, born on January 6, 1997, in Sfax, Tunisia. Her current address is Route Gremda, SIDI ABESS, 3003, SFAX, Tunisia.
Research Topics:
She research focuses on several key areas related to multiple sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). Firstly, She investigate the acute effects of melatonin ingestion on the physical, postural, cognitive, and perceptual disturbances experienced by individuals with MS. Secondly, She study the effects of sex differences, both alone and in combination with a fatiguing task, on the physical and postural performance of MS patients. Additionally, She explore the impact of physical training on lung function, aerobic capacity, and metabolic adaptations in individuals living with MS. In the realm of sleep quality and overall well-being, she research delves into the relationship between sleep quality, perceptual disorders, and quality of life in both MS and PD. Specifically, she look at how the combination of exogenous melatonin supplementation and training can affect these aspects of life for individuals with these conditions.
Current Position:
She currently a member of the Research Laboratory for the Evaluation and Management of Musculoskeletal Pathologies (LR20ES09) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sfax, Tunisia, a position she have held since 2019. In terms of scientific collaboration, She involved in a project related to a medical thesis that has completed experimental manipulation, with results currently being processed. The project focuses on the effects of melatonin supplementation combined with physical exercise on inflammatory responses and lipid profiles in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). This collaboration includes Dr. Omar Hammouda (University of Paris Nanterre, LINP2), Prof. Fatma Ayadi, and Dr. Dana Jallouli, as part of the thesis of Ms. Asawer Ben Ayed at the Laboratory for Molecular Bases of Human Pathology (LR19ES13) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sfax.
