Assoc. Prof. Dr. Po-Jen Shih has a strong academic background in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Classic Mechanics and Structural Engineering. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the Department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University, specializing in Classic Mechanics, during the period of 2000-2004. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed his Master of Science (MS) in Structural Engineering at the same institution from 1996 to 1998. Dr. Shih began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Structural Engineering at National Cheng Kung University, which he completed from 1992 to 1996.
Research Experience:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Po-Jen Shih has held several significant positions in academia. He started as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Kaohsiung, where he specialized in Wave and Mechanics from 2009 to 2013. Following this, he was promoted to the role of Associate Professor at the same department, where he expanded his focus to include Wave and Mechanics as well as AFM Mechanics from 2013 to 2018. Dr. Shih then moved on to become a Professor at the same department, specializing in Wave and Biomechanics from 2018 to 2019. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at National Taiwan University, where he concentrates on Wave-Biomechanics and Corneal Biomechanics starting from 2019.
