His thesis is focused on Histomorphological and Immunohistochemical Studies on the Effects of 1-Isothiocyanato-4-methylsulfonyl Butane on Cisplatin-Induced Pituitary-Gonadal Axis Toxicity in Male Sprague-Dawley Rats, under the supervision of Prof. Olalekan Wasiu Akintunde. Dr. Adelakun completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Anatomy at the University of Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria, in December 2012, where his thesis examined Anthropometric Characterization of Skeletal Breadth Variations Amongst Adolescents in Lagos Urban Schools, supervised by Prof. Mike Ibeabuchi. He also earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Anatomy, graduating with honors in December 2009 from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. His undergraduate thesis was titled Effect of Crude Ethanol Leaves Extract of Azadirachta Indica on Male Reproductive Organs of Adult Wistar Rats, supervised by Prof. Olalekan Wasiu Akintunde.

He currently serves as a Lecturer I and Group Leader of the Neurobehavioral and Aging Laboratory at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, since 2022.
