Prior to his current position, from March 2022 to July 30, 2023, Eyob worked at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as a Lecturer and Researcher in the Research Institute and Technology Transformation sector. At AASTU, he advised and examined both postgraduate and undergraduate students, facilitated geoscience and geography courses, mobilized community service projects, and provided technical support. From October 2019 to February 2022, Eyob held the role of Lecturer and Senior Researcher at Raya University, where he advised, examined, and lectured undergraduate students, coordinated the GIS team, conducted community services, and reviewed and edited geospatial projects. His career at Raya University followed a position at Jimma University in Jimma, Ethiopia, from August 2017 to October 2019, where he served as a Lecturer and Researcher in the Research Institute. Kiros Tsegay Deribew received his MSc. with a thesis from Addis Ababa University (AAU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 2015/16 to 2017/18.
