Dr. Adeyemi Adebayo holds a Ph.D. in Accounting Sciences from the University of South Africa (Unisa), South Africa, obtained from 2017 to 2020. His doctoral thesis focused on “The Role of Governance Structures, Ownership Models, and Organizing Models in Mitigating Corporate Governance Problems of State-Owned Enterprises.” He also holds an MSc. in Accounting and Financial Analysis from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, United Kingdom, completed from 2011 to 2013, where he achieved a Distinction. His dissertation during this program was on “Audit Expectations Gap: Perspective on Auditors and Audited Accounts Users.” Dr. Adebayo earned his BSc. in Accounting from Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Nigeria, completed from 2005 to 2009, graduating with Second Class – Upper Division honors.

Experience:

Dr. Adeyemi Adebayo has held several significant roles in academia and research:

  • Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Accounting, Lagos State University, since June 2022. In this role, he conducts research, co-supervises students, designs and conducts specific research projects, assists in developing module topics, prepares teaching materials, and delivers lectures to full-time and part-time students on subjects such as financial accounting, cost accounting, management accounting, research methods, auditing, entrepreneurship, and business policy. He also employs appropriate technology in delivering lectures to enhance students’ engagement and participation.
  • Research Fellow at the College of Accounting Sciences, University of South Africa, since July 2021. Here, he conducts research, co-supervises students, facilitates postgraduate seminars and workshops, designs and conducts specific research projects, and mentors academic staff at Unisa studying towards their Master’s and Doctoral studies.
