Dr. Mehrdad Jalili Torkamani | Clinical Professions | Best Researcher Award

Researcher at Clinical Professions, University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Iran

Dr. Mehrdad Jalili Torkamani has contributed to several publications related to the effects of radiation on viruses, particularly SARS-CoV-2, using the Geant4-DNA toolkit. In 2023, he published a study in the Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology (JONSAT) investigating the effects of electron beam irradiation on spikes of various coronaviruses. In 2024, Dr. Torkamani published two articles, one in Nuclear Engineering and Technology focusing on the dose absorption of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 by electron radiation, and another in The European Physical Journal Plus, which simulated the energy absorption and dose of ionizing radiation on the spike of SARS-CoV-2 and compared it with human mortality statistics. His research contributes to understanding the potential use of radiation in combating viral infections.
