EDUCATION:
I completed my Ph.D. in Information and Knowledge Engineering at the University of Alcala, Spain, spanning from July 2012 to September 2015. The focus of my doctoral research was on “Interlinking Educational Data to the Web of Data,” with an emphasis on enhancing the integration of educational information into the broader context of the semantic web. Prior to my doctoral studies, I pursued a Master’s in Software Engineering at Ferdowsi University, Iran, from September 2001 to February 2004. My master’s thesis, titled “Developing a Management Information System to Manipulate Jini Home Networks,” delved into the creation of a sophisticated.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
Cape Breton University has been at the forefront of delivering comprehensive and cutting-edge courses in the field of data science and analytics. Over the past few years, the university has offered a range of specialized courses catering to the growing demands of the industry. In the fall of 2019, the Quantitative Methods course was introduced, comprising two sections, providing students with a foundational understanding of statistical techniques and methodologies. Following its success, the university expanded its curriculum to include the Database Concepts course, which has been offered across seven sections from the fall of 2019 to the spring of 2023.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Since January 2021, I have had the privilege of serving as a Member of the Research Ethics Committee at Cape Breton University, contributing to the ethical oversight of research activities within the academic community. In this role, I have actively participated in evaluating and ensuring the ethical standards of various research proposals, fostering a commitment to integrity and responsible research practices. My engagement in university governance extends further to my tenure as a Member of the By-Laws and Procedures Committee from October 2020 to September 2022. During this period, I played a crucial role in reviewing and refining institutional policies, ensuring alignment with best practices and the evolving needs of the academic environment.
