Assoc Prof Dr Ujwala Shinde has achieved the following degrees: a Ph.D. (Tech) from Bombay College of Pharmacy, University of Mumbai, in 2005; an M.Pharm from UDCT, University of Mumbai, in 1992, where she achieved First Class; and a B.Pharm from UDCT, University of Mumbai, in 1990, where she also achieved First Class. Dr. Ujwala Shinde completed her Ph.D. (Tech) in Pharmaceutics at the Bombay College of Pharmacy, Mumbai, from 1999 to 2005, under the guidance of Prof. M.S. Nagarsenker, who was also the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics at the time. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Studies on Microencapsulation.” Prior to her Ph.D., she earned an M.Pharm. Sci in Medicinal Natural Product from the University Department of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, from 1990 to 1992. During this period, she conducted research under the guidance of Prof. Purnima D. Amin, a Professor in Pharmaceutics at the Institute of Chemical Technology, focusing on “Sodium Alginate and Xanthan gum as matrix Former for Controlled Drug Delivery,” for which she received a grade of 57.2%, earning her a first-class distinction. Dr. Shinde has received recognition for her academic contributions, including the Devang Mehta National Education Award for Best Professor in Pharmaceutics Studies in the 27th Edition of Business School Affaire & Dewang Mehta National Education Awards event ceremony at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, on November 22, 2019. In 1998, my career progressed as I became an Associate Professor at the Department of Theoretical Physics, Faculty of Physics, KNU, where I continued to advance my research and academic pursuits. In the same year, I obtained a Docent certificate in Theoretical Physics, further solidifying my expertise in this field. Expanding my academic horizons, I transitioned to the Department of Biophysics, Faculty of Biology, KNU, where I served as an Associate Professor from 2000 to 2001, delving into the interdisciplinary realm of biophysics.

My dedication to biophysics led to my appointment as a Professor at the Department of Biophysics, Faculty of Biology, KNU, a position I held from 2001 to 2007.
