Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuzhu Tan has an extensive academic background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with a focus on research and development. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Hubei University for Nationalities in Enshi, PR China, from September 2005 to June 2009. He furthered his studies by obtaining a Master of Arts in Chemistry of Chinese Materia Medica at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2009 to June 2012. Dr. Tan pursued his Ph.D. in Chinese Materia Medica at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2013 to June 2017, focusing on the study of the chemical constituents of Valeriana jatamansi Jones and their biological activities. Subsequently, he engaged in joint postdoctoral training at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Sichuan NewGreenMedicine Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Chengdu, PR China, from January 2018 to January 2021. His postdoctoral research involved quality evaluation on the stem and leaf of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort and the discovery of vasodilatory active components. Dr. Tan’s academic journey reflects his dedication to advancing the understanding and application of Traditional Chinese Medicine through rigorous scientific research and analysis.
