Assistant Professor Dr. Sidi Mohammed Ammar Selles completed his high school education with a Scientific Track Diploma from Lycée de Nédroma, Nédroma, Tlemcen, in July 1996, achieving a fairly good distinction. He pursued his university studies, obtaining a Veterinary Medicine Diploma from the Veterinary Institute of Tiaret in June 2001. Continuing his academic journey, he completed a Master’s Degree from 2005 to 2009, specializing in Veterinary Science with an Option in Infectious Pathology and Food Hygiene at the Faculty of Agro-Veterinary Sciences, Department of Veterinary Sciences, University Ibn Khaldoun, Tiaret, in April 2009, with a good distinction. Post Graduation & Research:

Post-graduation, Dr. Sidi Mohammed Ammar Selles has been actively involved in teaching and research. He taught parasitic zoonoses courses to third-cycle doctoral students during the academic year 2020/2021. Additionally, he is a member of the Laboratory for Improvement and Valorization of Local Animal Productions and serves as the Project Manager for the PRFU project, which focuses on using natural antioxidants for semen preservation and artificial insemination in goats. Dr. Selles is also part of CNEPRU projects, including the Laboratory for epidemiological surveillance of bacterial and viral diseases in poultry in the western Algerian region, led by Hammoudi Abdelhamid, and the project on improving and producing small ruminants (milk/meat) through reproductive biotechnologies (artificial insemination and embryo transfer), led by Khiati Baghdad. Assist Prof Dr Sidi Mohammed Ammar Selles served as the Deputy Director responsible for post-graduation and external relations at the Institute of Veterinary Sciences, University Ibn Khaldoun, Tiaret, from January 13, 2016, to May 15, 2019. He was also a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Veterinary Sciences, representing Assistant Professors, from September 8, 2014, to September 2017, and later continued his involvement as the Deputy Director responsible for post-graduation and external relations from February 26, 2018, to May 15, 2019. POSIZIONE:

Dal gennaio 2023, sono Professore di seconda fascia nel settore scientifico-disciplinare MED/07 – Microbiologia e Microbiologia Clinica presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Sperimentale dell’Università del Salento.

FORMAZIONE:

Ho conseguito la Laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia presso l’Università Milano-Bicocca nel 2010, con una tesi sperimentale dal titolo “Markers di infezione di HPV per la prevenzione del carcinoma uterino”. Successivamente, nel 2011, ho ottenuto l’abilitazione alla professione di Medico-Chirurgo (Albo dei Medici Chirurghi di Monza-Brianza, N° 03563). Nel 2003 ho completato la Specializzazione in Microbiologia e Virologia presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano, conseguendo il punteggio di 70 e lode. La mia tesi sperimentale per questa specializzazione si intitolava “Infezioni erpetiche in pazienti affetti da disordini neurologici”. Inoltre, nel 1997 ho ottenuto la Laurea in Scienze Biologiche presso l’Università degli Studi di Pisa con il massimo dei voti (110 e lode), presentando una tesi sperimentale dal titolo “Infezioni erpetiche in pazienti affetti da disordini neurologici”. Sono iscritto all’elenco speciale dell’Ordine Nazionale dei Biologi con il numero 018295.

Nel 2022 ho partecipato al progetto PRIN “InCritA: Interazioni critiche nell’aria: studi sui determinanti ambientali e tecnologici per una valutazione robusta del rischio di inalazione di agenti patogeni nell’aria e sviluppo di linee guida e tecnologiche ottimizzate per la mitigazione del rischio”. Nel 2014, ho ricevuto una Quota Ateneo Competitiva per il progetto “HHV-6A and HHV-6B in Multiple Sclerosis: Role of CD4 T-regulatory cell dysregulation via CD46 engagement and KIR genetic background”. Nel 2010, ho ricoperto il ruolo di Responsabile Scientifico per il progetto “Sviluppo e convalida di piattaforme quantitative e multiplex per diagnostica molecolare in campo infettivologico”, finanziato dalla Regione Lombardia-Ateneo Bicocca-PMI. Nel 2008, ho partecipato al progetto FIRB “Nuove piattaforme immunologiche e virologiche per il Monitoraggio delle infezioni virali in pazienti adulti e pediatrici riceventi trapianto allogenico di Cellule Staminali Emopoietiche: set-up terapeutico con trattamenti antivirali standard e immunoterapia adottiva di seconda linea” (SCORE 40/40). Dal 2006 al 2022, ho ricoperto il ruolo di Ricercatore a tempo indeterminato nel settore scientifico-disciplinare MED/07 – Microbiologia e Microbiologia Clinica presso il Dipartimento di Medicina Sperimentale dell’Università Milano-Bicocca. Durante la mia carriera, ho svolto diverse esperienze di ricerca, tra cui la ricerca presso il Laboratorio di Immunoregolazione, Unità di Patogenesi virale, National Institutes of Health a Bethesda, Maryland, sotto la direzione del Dr. Paolo Lusso (06/2008). Inoltre, sono stato vincitore di concorsi per titoli ed esami per il conferimento di assegni di ricerca presso il Laboratorio di Microbiologia Medica, Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia dell’Università di Milano-Bicocca, e presso la Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi, Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia dell’Università di Milano.
