The user has held various positions in their academic and research career. Since June 2022, they have been serving as a Ramanujan Fellow/Scientist D in Applied Biology at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as a Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Texas, Dallas, USA. Between 2016 and 2018, they held the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Texas, Dallas, USA. From 2013 to 2016, they served as a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Mysore, Karnataka, India. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Junior Research Fellow at The University of Mysore, Karnataka, India.
The user has made significant contributions to their field, including the discovery of novel genes such as CD180, Nptx2, and Megf11, which play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis. They designed siRNA-liposome therapy targeting these genes as a novel therapy for colitis, published as the corresponding author in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules (Impact Factor 8.2). Additionally, they identified the novel role of the MALT1-lysophosphatidyl choline acetyl transferase 3 (LPCAT3) axis in the pathological progression of cardiac fibrosis and osteoarthritis. Their research showed that pharmacological inhibition of MALT1 or LPCAT3 via lipid nanoparticle technology ameliorates cardiac fibrosis and osteoarthritis, published as the corresponding author in Cell-communication and Signaling (Impact Factor 9.5). Furthermore, they discovered the Gab2/MALT1 axis as a new signaling mechanism of IL-1β that drives Thrombosis and Inflammation in Deep Vein Thrombosis, with implications of MALT1 inhibitors as therapy for thrombotic disorders, published as the first author in the BLOOD Journal (Impact Factor 25.6). Lastly, they discovered Grb2 associated binder 2 (Gab2) as a novel adaptor protein that integrates signaling evoked from TNFR1/IL-1R1/TLR4 receptors, published as the first author in the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular biology journal (Impact Factor 10.5).
The user has received several accolades and awards throughout their career. In March 2022, they were awarded the Ramanujan Fellowship by DST-SERB, India. In November 2019, they received the Abstract Achievement Award from the American Society of Hematology (ASH) meeting 2019 in Orlando, Florida, USA. Additionally, in August 2018, they received Travel Support from the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Hemostasis 2018 in Waterville Valley, MA. They were also awarded a Post-doctoral Fellowship from the American Heart Association, USA, in January 2018. In December 2015, they received the Best Research Scholar Award in Doctoral Studies from the Department of Biochemistry, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore, India. Furthermore, from March 2013 to 2016, they held a CSIR-India Senior Research Fellowship, and from March 2011 to 2013, they held a CSIR-India Junior Research Fellowship. In June 2010, they secured All India Merit Rank 88 out of 890 in the CSIR-National Eligibility Examination (NET) -JRF.
