Dr. Sanjeev Yadav | Biomass Conversion | Best Researcher Award
Associate Professor and Head at Biomass Conversion, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, India
Mr. Kennedy Kipkoech is a career Biostatistician and Modeler with 14 years of experience in research and policy at health research institutions and government agencies. He can work with researchers, program implementers, and policymakers in scientific inquiries, generating and disseminating new knowledge to inform policy and programming. His research interests focus on using epidemiological methods and statistical and mathematical modeling approaches to understand transmission dynamics and control of infectious diseases, particularly the evaluation of the impact of program interventions on HIV, viral hepatitis, and non-communicable diseases epidemics.
Professional Profiles:
Education:
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi from 2008 to 2013, under the supervision of Dr. Munawar A. Saikh. His doctoral research focused on the short-term scheduling of refinery operations. Prior to his Ph.D., he pursued his M.S. in Paper Science and Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, from 2004 to 2007, where he was awarded a 100% scholarship. During this time, he worked under the guidance of Dr. Richard Gustafson, conducting research using X-ray micro-tomography to examine the 3-D structure of cambium. Dr. Yadav’s academic journey began with a B.Tech. in Pulp & Paper Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India, where he studied from 1996 to 2001.
Work Experience:
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav has a wealth of experience in academia and industry. He served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Shiv Nadar University for 4.5 years, where he contributed significantly to the department’s research and teaching activities. Prior to this role, he held the position of Assistant Professor in the same department for 6 years, further enhancing his expertise in the field. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Yadav gained valuable industry experience, working for 3.5 years (from 1st March 2001 to 30th June 2004) in the paper and water treatment division of Kemira. During his time at Kemira, he held technical and senior technical executive roles, where he honed his skills in paper science and engineering, as well as water treatment technologies.
Research Interest:
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav’s research interests encompass a wide range of topics in chemical engineering and environmental science. His work focuses on thermochemical conversion of biomass, including torrefaction, pyrolysis, gasification, co-pyrolysis, and co-gasification. He is particularly interested in exploring innovative approaches to utilize biomass for energy production and environmental sustainability. In the field of wastewater treatment, Dr. Yadav is actively involved in research on adsorption and membrane separation techniques using biowaste materials. His work aims to develop cost-effective and efficient methods for treating wastewater, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact.
Administrative:
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav has played an active role in administrative positions at Shiv Nadar University, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to academic excellence. He served as the Coordinator of the Chemical Engineering Department for around two years, from August 2013 to June 2015, overseeing departmental operations and academic programs. In addition, Dr. Yadav served as the Undergraduate (UG) Advisor for the Chemical Engineering Department for approximately four years, from August 2013 to June 2017, providing guidance and support to undergraduate students. He also served as the Postgraduate (PG) Advisor for the department for almost four and a half years, from August 2014 to the present, assisting postgraduate students in their academic and research endeavors. Since July 2018, Dr. Yadav has resumed his role as the Coordinator of the Chemical Engineering Department, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to the department’s success. In July 2022, he was appointed as the Head of the Department for the Chemical Engineering Department at Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence, showcasing his leadership abilities and commitment to advancing the department’s goals and objectives.
