Hassan Osman Hassan has worked on several research projects, including “Implication of Water Policy on Coastal Pollution: A Case Study of Mogadishu Coast,” which is currently under review for publication in Spring. He has also contributed to “The First Assessment of Marine Litter on the Somalian Coast: The Case of Liido Beach, Mogadishu,” which has been accepted for publication in Heliyon. Additionally, Hassan has conducted research on the evaluation of mangrove cover at Haruunia Area using remote sensing and GIS, as well as on the factors influencing effective solid waste management in Gabiley Municipality.

From December 2022 to November 2023, Hassan Osman Hassan served as the Project Coordinator at the Somali Disaster Management Agency. In this role, he coordinated humanitarian assistance and protection activities in multiple camps or settlements, ensuring compliance with national and international environmental standards and legal frameworks. Hassan designed, implemented, monitored, and evaluated the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) strategy, standards, contingency plans, and information management system. He also facilitated the participation of affected populations in planning, implementation, and monitoring of CCCM activities, supported the establishment and maintenance of dignity and living standards for displaced populations, collaborated with other sectors, partners, authorities, and stakeholders involved in CCCM operations, and provided technical support, capacity building, training, and guidance to CCCM staff and partners.

Since January 18, 2021, Prof Dr Hicham Harrass has been a Biophysics Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Casablanca, Hassan II University, Casablanca. He has also been a Guest Lecturer at IPSITS in Casablanca since June 1, 2023. From February 1, 2020, to March 29, 2020, he worked as a Medical Physicist in the nuclear medicine department at Clinique Errahma in Marrakech. He completed an internship in the nuclear medicine department at the Oncology and Hematology Center, Med VI University Hospital in Marrakech, from December 25, 2019, to January 25, 2020. From 2012 to 2019, he taught “Environmental Protection” at the Royal Gendarmerie School in Marrakech.
