Dr. Charles Abimbola Faseyi’s academic journey has been marked by a commitment to environmental studies and coastal management. He obtained his Ph.D. in Integrated Coastal Zone Management from the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana, in March 2023. His doctoral thesis focused on the “Assessment of ecological health status and socio-economic drivers of degradation in two southwestern estuarine systems of Ghana.” Throughout his Ph.D., Dr. Faseyi was actively involved in various research responsibilities, including sample collection for microplastics, benthic macroinvertebrates, particle size, heavy metals, nutrients, and physicochemical parameters. He also conducted laboratory analyses, data analysis, and contributed to the publication of manuscripts and presentation of papers in international conferences. Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Faseyi completed his Master of Science in Zoology (Ecology and Environmental Biology) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in December 2016. His dissertation titled “Plankton, grain size, productivity, and quality of Lekan-Are Reservoir, Ogun-Oshun River Basin, Abeokuta, Ogun State” involved similar responsibilities, including sample collection for benthic macroinvertebrates, particle size, heavy metals, nutrients, and physicochemical parameters, as well as laboratory analysis, data analysis, and international conference presentations. Dr. Faseyi’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, which he completed in July 2013. His project, “Comparative effect of local and foreign commercial feeds on the growth and survival of Clarias gariepinus juveniles,” showcased his early research skills, including experimental research set-up, fish culture, morphometric and physicochemical parameters data collection, laboratory analysis, data analysis, report writing, and presentations.
Teaching Experience:
Prof. Iqbal Thonse Hawaldar has an extensive teaching career spanning over several prestigious institutions. His journey began at Bhuvanendra College, Karkala, India, where he served as a Lecturer from June 1996 to June 1999. He then moved on to S.D.M. College of Business Management, Mangalore, India, where he held the position of Assistant Professor from June 1999 to September 2006. Following this, Prof. Hawaldar joined the Postgraduate Department of Business Administration (MBA) at P.A. College of Engineering, Mangalore, India, as a Professor of Finance, where he served from September 2006 to September 2009. His academic career further progressed as he became an Assistant Professor at the College of Business Administration, Kingdom University, Bahrain, from October 14, 2009, to November 2, 2011. Subsequently, he advanced to the role of Associate Professor at the same institution, serving from November 3, 2011, to December 26, 2017. Currently, Prof. Hawaldar holds the esteemed position of Professor at Hawaldar College of Business Administration, Kingdom University, Bahrain, a role he has excelled in since December 27, 2017.

In 2023, he was awarded the prestigious KADI Travel Grant, the Charles Boyden Small Grants Scheme, and the Nansen Scientific Society Funds, highlighting his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and research in his field. Dr. Faseyi’s outstanding academic performance was further acknowledged in 2022 when he was named the Best Graduating PhD Student in Integrated Coastal Zone Management by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at the Africa Centre of Coastal Resilience (ACECoR), University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Additionally, he received the distinction of being the best graduating regional student and the student with the highest number of publications from a research thesis at ACECoR in the same year. His academic prowess and leadership qualities were also recognized through his nomination as the most outstanding student at the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience, which earned him an invitation to attend a high-level meeting for the Africa Centers of Excellence for Development Impact (ACE) in person at the World Bank Headquarters in 2022. Furthermore, Dr. Faseyi received the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) fellowship to attend the Ramon Margalef Summer Colloquia in Barcelona, Spain, in 2022, showcasing his commitment to global scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange.
