Mr. Nanii Yenibehit has completed an MPhil in Agricultural Economics with a specialization in Time Series Econometrics at the University for Development Studies in Tamale, Ghana, from August 2019 to September 2022. Their thesis title was ‘Transmission and Volatility Dynamics of Foreign Meat Prices to Domestic Meat Markets in Ghana.’ Mr. Yenibehit also has a BSc in Agriculture Science Education with a specialization in Agricultural Economics (First Class Honours) from the University of Education, Winneba, Mampong – Ashanti, Ghana, completed from August 2014 to May 2017, and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in General Agriculture (First Class Division) from Sunyani Technical University (formerly Sunyani Polytechnic) in Sunyani, Ghana, completed from December 2007 to July 2010. Their dissertation title for the HND was ‘Assessing the economic impact of hatchery diseases on the poultry industry of the Kumasi Metropolis.’ Mr. Yenibehit also holds a Senior Secondary School Certificate from Zamse Secondary/Technical School in Bolgatanga, Ghana, completed from January 2001 to August 2003, and a Basic Education Certificate from Sekoti Junior Secondary School in Sekoti – Bolgatanga, Ghana, completed from 1997 to 2000.

Research Experience:

Mr. Nanii Yenibehit has worked as a Researcher for the Access and Authority Nexus of Farmer – Herder Conflicts (ANN) Project in Tamale, Ghana, from 2021 to 2023. In this role, he developed research concepts, reviewed literature, planned and designed data collection instruments, recruited and trained enumerators for data collection, analyzed data, wrote reports on research activities, and drafted manuscripts for publication. He also worked as a Research Assistant at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, from October 2017 to January 2019, under the supervision of Prof. Isaac Abunyuwah. In this role, he developed research concepts, reviewed literature, assisted in designing and carrying out research, collected and analyzed data, and wrote reports on research. Additionally, Mr. Yenibehit served as a Zonal Supervisor for the Population and Housing Census (PHC) 2021 at the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) in Accra, Ghana. In this position, he supervised the listing and enumeration of households in his operational area, assigned enumerators to enumeration areas for data collection, reinterviewed respondents to check for inconsistencies, managed all data collection materials under his care, and synchronized and transmitted daily enumeration reports to the Census Office.

Research Interest:

Mr. Nanii Yenibehit’s research interests include Agriculture, Food, Value, and Supply Chains Analysis; Agriculture, Food, and Commodity Markets and Prices; Agricultural Policy and development analysis; Agricultural Production and efficiency analysis; and Issues on climate change and Land Use Land Cover (LULC) changes.

Teaching & Work Experience:

Mr. Nanii Yenibehit has been working as a Tutor (Lecturer) at the Animal Health and Production College, Pong-Tamale, Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), Ghana, in Tamale, since 2019. His teaching areas include Introduction to Economics and Business Statistics, Agricultural Value Chain Analysis, Agricultural Finance, Animal Health Economics, and Project Planning and Appraisal. In this role, he lectures with an emphasis on the application of economic principles in Agriculture, value chains, and Animal Health, administers examinations and other assessment reports, supervises and gives diploma students directions on how to conduct research, supports students’ development academically and morally, reads and corrects theses while students are writing their thesis, conducts research on relevant topics, and publishes the same in reputable journals. He also coordinates activities and proposals for contracts and grants that the college may compete for. Additionally, Mr. Yenibehit worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana, from October 2017 to January 2019. In this role, he facilitated students’ discussions and tutorials on Econometrics, Research Methods, and Project Appraisal, helped lecturers collect and analyze data for the publication of articles, guided students to write their theses as well as analyze data, and helped to conduct research individually and as a team, publishing the same in reputable journals.

Mr. Nanii Yenibehit’s achievements include the honour of inclusion of his MPhil. thesis into the Dean’s List of Exceptional Postgraduate Thesis at the Graduate School, University for Development Studies, during the 2022 Graduation Ceremony. He also received a Data Collection Grant Support for the Access and Authority Nexus in Farmer-Herder Conflicts (AAN Project) at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (IIR), University for Development Studies, funded by Danida, from 2021 to 2023, with an award value of GHS10,000.00. Additionally, at the University of Education, Winneba, College of Agriculture Education, Mampong, he received the Principal’s best-graduating student award for the Faculty of Agriculture Education during the 2017 Graduation, with an award value of GHS500.00. At Sunyani Technical University (formerly Sunyani Polytechnic), he was awarded the overall best student in the School of Applied Science and Technology during the 2010 Graduation.
