Pharmacological evaluation of newly synthesized chemical compounds. Pharmacological screening of medicinal plants. Microbiological screening of plant extracts. Biological activity-guided separation and isolation of bioactive compounds from plants using different chemical and chromatographic techniques. Studying drug-drug interactions and drug-herb interactions.

Assoc Prof Dr. Shimaa Ramadan Emam has significant experience in using various statistical programs, such as SPSS and pharmacokinetic programs. They also possess a wide range of technical skills, including expertise in techniques like High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometry (HPLC-MS), Microbiological Assay, Spectrophotometry, and Ultrasonography. Moreover, they are familiar with planning and have technical expertise in executing in vivo protocols to conduct studies. The dissertation title was “A New Iridoid Dimer and Main Chemical Constituents from Pterocephalus Nestorianus; Isolation, Spectroscopic Identification and Bioassay Screening.” The advisors for this Ph.D. were Prof. Dr. F. HS. Hussain and Full Prof. Dr. Giovanni Vidari from Italy, and the user achieved an average grade of 93.5%. M.Sc. in Ethnobiopharmacy and Natural Product-Org. Chem from the University of Pavia, Italy, completed in 2012. The advisor for this degree was Prof. Dr. Giovanni Vidari, and the user ranked 2nd in their class. Their research focused on the phytochemical study of Teucrium parviflorum Scherb, including the identification of main bioactive metabolites and determination of biological activity. B.Sc. in General Chemistry from Salahaddin University, Erbil-Kurdistan, completed from 2004 to 2008. The user ranked 3rd in their class.
