Franco began his career as an Assistant and Senior Officer at the University of Genoa’s Dermatological Clinic from 1989 to 2004, and he was a Foreign Assistant Professor at the Dermatological Clinic in Strasbourg, France, in 1984. He served as a Dermatopathology Consultant at the Institute of Pathological Anatomy at the University of Genoa from 2002 to 2015 and directed the Specialization School in Dermatology and Venereology at the same university from 2008 to 2009. From 2005 to 2015, he taught Dermatology and Dermatopathology in the Integrated Course of Dermatology/Infectious Diseases, while also overseeing the Dermatology curriculum in the Dental School and the Orthopedic Technician Diploma Program. Franco was a member of the Center of Excellence for the Study of Molecular Mechanisms (CEBR) for Clinical Immunology from 2012 to 2015 and participated in exam committees for medical students from 1990 to 2015. Esraa Ali has pursued various courses and workshops to enhance her knowledge and skills in nursing and healthcare. In 2017, she completed courses in COPD and Asthma at Altababa Training Center in Sudan. In the same year, she also undertook a course in Global Health Nursing. In 2018, Esraa participated in a course focusing on patient safety, communication skills, quality improvement, and the implementation of evidence-based practices at Altababa Training Center. Furthering her education, Esraa completed a course in Evidence-Based Medicine at Altababa Training Center in 2018. In 2015, she also attended a course on Nursing Ethics conducted by the Sudanese Medical Board. Upon joining Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar, Esraa engaged in several training programs. From 2021 to 2023, she participated in courses on sepsis, environmental safety, fire safety, and the Qatar Early Warning System, enhancing her understanding of critical aspects of healthcare and patient safety. After joining King Fahad Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Esraa continued her professional development through various training programs. In 2022, she completed courses in Nursing Preceptorship, Quality and Patient Safety Orientation, and Data Management. Additionally, she participated in a Train of Trainers (TOT) program to further develop her skills in training and education.

Research Interest:

Esraa Ali’s research interests encompass a wide range of topics within nursing and healthcare, all aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and improving healthcare practices. She is particularly interested in areas such as nursing education and training, patient safety, clinical nursing practices, healthcare quality improvement, and environmental safety in healthcare settings. In nursing education and training, Esraa focuses on research that enhances programs by developing curricula, implementing new teaching methodologies, and integrating innovative technologies to improve nursing education. Regarding patient safety, Esraa’s research aims to reduce medical errors, enhance communication among healthcare teams, and promote a culture of safety in healthcare settings. In clinical nursing practices, Esraa’s research interests include evidence-based nursing interventions, best practices in patient care, and the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Teaching Experience:

Esraa Ali has a wealth of teaching experience across various healthcare and academic settings. Her teaching roles have enabled her to impart knowledge and skills to students at different levels, contributing to the development of competent healthcare professionals. From February 2018 to December 2020, Esraa served as a Lecturer at Riyadh International University in Khartoum, Sudan. In this role, she was responsible for teaching medical students in the first level basic clinical skills course. This included instructing on fundamental skills such as handwashing, nasogastric tube insertion, injection techniques, urinary catheterization, wound dressing, and basic life support. Esraa’s teaching encompassed both theoretical and practical aspects of these skills, ensuring that students were proficient in their application. Additionally, from November 2019 to May 2020, Esraa worked as a Lecturer at the Sudanese Canadian College in Khartoum, Sudan. Here, she taught nursing students in the fundamental of nursing course, which covered basic nursing skills. Esraa’s teaching approach included theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations in the lab, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of nursing fundamentals.
