From December 2022 to November 2023, Hassan Osman Hassan served as the Project Coordinator at the Somali Disaster Management Agency. In this role, he coordinated humanitarian assistance and protection activities in multiple camps or settlements, ensuring compliance with national and international environmental standards and legal frameworks. Hassan designed, implemented, monitored, and evaluated the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) strategy, standards, contingency plans, and information management system. He also facilitated the participation of affected populations in planning, implementation, and monitoring of CCCM activities, supported the establishment and maintenance of dignity and living standards for displaced populations, collaborated with other sectors, partners, authorities, and stakeholders involved in CCCM operations, and provided technical support, capacity building, training, and guidance to CCCM staff and partners.

Prof. Idit Avrahami completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Tel Aviv University in 2003, focusing on “The Effect of Structure on Hemodynamics of Artificial Blood Pumps,” advised by Prof. Shmuel Einav and Prof. Moshe Rosenfeld. Prior to that, she earned an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering (Cum Laude) from Tel Aviv University in 1998, with a thesis on “Flow across Models of Mechanical Heart Valves,” under the supervision of the same advisors. Prof. Avrahami obtained her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) from Technion- Israel Institute of Technology in 1993.

Prof. Idit Avrahami has been serving in various academic administration roles at Ariel University. Since 2018, she has been the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Additionally, since 2022, she has served as the Department’s Final Project Coordinator. Since 2018, she has been a member of the Faculty Academic Committee. Prof. Avrahami has also been the Head of the Research Program in Top-Ariel for excellent students since 2018 and has served as the Head of the Mentoring Program for first-year students since 2017.
